These new Dr. Bracko videos on Youtube have some pretty interesting comparisons of skating techniques. I can't get the links to post because of the spam filter, but if you go to Youtube and type "Dr. Michael Bracko" in the search line, you will get hits for videos that compare skater's sprint times for different types of acceleration, arm movement, and leg movement.
