Practice Template for the 2020-2021 Season

Based on Finnish concept of the Four Game Playing Roles and Three Game Situations

Offense
- Role 1 - Individual offensive skills.
- Role 2 - Team offensive skills.

Defense
- Role 3 - Individual defensive skills.
- Role 4 - Team defensive skills.

Three Game Situations of Offense-Defense-Loose Puck
Games and transition games have this flow. Drills not so much.

Hockey is a Game of Continuous Transition Between the Four Game Playing Roles and the Three Game Situations
This video shows these transitions. So we need to have games and transition games in every practice or we are not really practicing the Game of Hockey. If we only do drills then Instead of whole-part-whole we only practice part-part-part and follow instructions, instead of reading the play and making decisions.
