Subject: Best line combos with 12 skater?

We started the season with 13 skaters running 3 forward lines and 2 sets of defensemen.

We lost a player for the season. I would like to come up with a rotation giving fairly even ice time.

I have 6 players who can play defense. I could run 2 centers and 3 sets of wings but that will wear out the centers.

Any thoughts on a rotation would be appreciated. Thanks.

Tony in that situation I have played two left wings one period, next period two Right wingers and the third two centres.

Otherwise you could have 3 sets of wingers and two centres but rotate who is playing centre each period.

Good luck.

we run with 4 forwards per line the forth forward rotates Lw, Rw,C
it work pretty well, the forth player needs to be versatile.

When I have 12 skaters on my Novice Hockey Team, I go with 3 D, and keep the 3 forward lines together. It seems to work because at this age most of the kids want to play forward.
