The ABCs of International Hockey - A program to develop complete players
BOOK ONE
Our Book One describes the philosophy of out program based on the Finnish concept of the Four Game Playing Roles and the Three Game Situations. Juhani designed a coding system based on letters and numbers. i.e. B600 menas B - Drills with no opponents to work on either individual or team play. 600 means the drill starts at the 4 blue lines painted on the boards. Then there is a short description of what happens and which group is doing the drill.
This book is designed for computers and on most computers you can click on the topic heading to go to that section. It is pretty neat when it runs right. I hope it works on yours. At the end are six progressive levels with examples of what should be learned before you move on to the next level (Schools thought of this idea first, so we can't take all the credit.)
So it is a curriculum with a progressive scope and sequence to the skills..
This ABC site and these manuals constantly update the original program in the Book One and Book Two. The game changes all the time and coaching methods change so continuous updates keep the material current.
The two themes are
'Enjoy the Game'
'The Game is the Greatest Coach'
'Enjoy the Game'
