Playoffs 2 of 3 Series
Started our playoff on Thursday evening. Played great outshooting them 49-39 but their goalie was great and we missed the net on two breakaways and came up short 1-2. Both teams competed really hard and both goalies were good. We got 28 shots in the second period and only scored one.
We scored to take a 2-1 lead but they were screaming from the bench claiming a too many men penalty. I watched and was relieved our player got off the ice on time. Refs met and the linesman across the ice at the far blue line said it was and they disallowed the goal and gave us a penalty. If he thought that he should have made the call when he saw it and not 5' after listening to them yelling.
Second game was a little tighter. Got outshot 35-34.
Gotta score more than 2 goals on 83 shots in two games. Goalie stoned us and their players blocked a lot of shots.
We lost 1-2 plus one EN goal. Deserved better. Their star walked off the wall and scored one in each game.
Proud of how hard our players competed. They did everything well but score. Set a record for our team making 141 passes in game one. You don't always win the ones you should. Our goal is to give up 2 or less GA and score 3 GF or more. We did the first one but couldn't reach the 4 GF a game we averaged all season.

Fire Black Practice Plan - 02-28-24
Last practice before playoffs. None of the other coaches could make it so Cassie jumped on the ice with me. Day before first game so I didn't want it to be too intense. Focus was picking up attackers in our slot and taking their sticks plus going over the low press pk because they attack low on their pp.

5' - B2 - Shoot from 3 lines starting at red line - both ends
10' - D4 - Game of two pass at each end. 5-5. Rule goal must be from give and go plays.
10'- B6 - Dizzy - skate around circle with puck - pass then skate other way, get a pass - go in and shoot.
